Centre Stage Dance and Drama School is based in Oxshott and Leatherhead and attracts students from Oxshott, Leatherhead, Ashtead, Bookham, Cobham and Effingham.
The Centre Stage Dance and Drama School philosophy is to discover, nurture and develop its students creative talents, both boys and girls, through dedicated teaching in an atmosphere of fun and wholesome discipline.

Our Drama Classes near Leatherhead are split into Juniors and Seniors.
Juniors develop listening, observation and improvisation skills through games and exercises. The children learn to act and react with others in the class and to work as a team as well as develop independent thinking.
Our drama classes in Oxshott teach them to be sincere and believable in everything they tackle and not to fit into stereotype characters and situations. When they are confident enough in these skills, they may work on a script aimed at their level of understanding.
Seniors go on to develop the skills they have learnt in the Junior class with the addition of tackling more difficult scripts, working outside their comfort zone and building on relationships with their peers.
The drama teacher aims to build on the student's acting skills and confidence with a sensitive and caring approach in a disciplined environment. One of the main aims of the drama department is to give the children the necessary skills for their development in their future lives.
Dance School in Oxshott, Cobham and Leatherhead
We run dance classes in Oxshott and Cobham most evenings and on Saturdays.
We have classes in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Street Jazz, Musical Theatre and National - with frequent Demo Shows, Summer Schools, Workshops, Performances and a major Show every 2 years in a professional Theatre.
Our last show was The Snow Queen in the Leatherhead Theatre in March 2012 with a cast of 150 students!
Our dance and drama teachers are professionals in their fields; CRB checked and qualified to supervise, teach, choreograph and coach children and pupils of all ages.

Kids Dance Classes in Oxshott and Cobham, Leatherhead
Centre Stage Dance and Drama follows the Royal Academy of Dance graded examination syllabus and both the Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial society of Teachers of Dance syllabi for the vocational grades.
Ballet Dance Classes in Oxshott and Cobham, Leatherhead
Ballet is taught in a disciplined environment with attention given to correct technique, posture, an appreciation of music and how it relates to dance as well as a sense of space, performance and importantly, enjoyment.

By teaching Modern Dance we aim to equip students with a well limbered body within their physical capabilities, an appreciation and feel of rhythm and the knowledge of space awareness, dynamics, relaxation, accent, a sense of performance - all combined with ease of movement.
Boys Modern Dance Classes in Oxshott and Cobham, Leatherhead
Boys have a different style of dance and some of their exercises are especially targeted to their physic. We have, therefore a Boy's Modern class. At present we have 8 boys who take modern and/or freestyle classes.
Freestyle / Street Jazz Dance Classes in Oxshott and Cobham, Leatherhead
At present we hold 4 freestyle classes a week with ages ranging from 5 – 14. These classes are “freer” than the Modern Dance classes. The students still warm up, limber and stretch their bodies but learn dances to modern, up to the minute music.
The children who attend these classes also perform in the local community – they will be performing at the Oxshott May Day festivities at the local sports club and have performed in Christmas Fairs in the area.
