Colchester-based drama school with part-time performing arts classes in Colchester, Essex. Theatricool offers singing lessons, dance classes, drama classes, attracting children living in Colchester, Dedham Heath, Braintree, Lexden, Stanway, Halstead, Coggeshall, and areas near Colchester Essex.

Our performing arts classes run on Saturdays in purpose-built studios at Colchester Institute. 

Theatricool offers classes for children aged 4 - 16 years and also run two Summer theatre schools in August each year.

The Saturday Schools are split into three ten week terms per year. 

In each 3 hour session we teach a mixture of Singing, Acting and Dance leading to a showcase twice yearly, one at Christmas and one at the end of the summer term.

We look at all aspects of being a performer and each student is taught according to their own ability, giving them the opportunity to progress at a rate that is suitable for them. The main emphasis is on having lots of fun! 

Theatricool is open to everyone, you can be an absolute beginner or a regular performer, whoever you are we will help you build on your skills and make you shine! Musical theatre classes are a great way to build confidence and Theatricool is a great place to make new friends !

Singing Classes

Covering all genres and working on harmonies and voice development.  We use Estill Voice Training™ techniques with specific exercises to support sustained vocal health and vitality, its principles are used in therapy around the world to rehabilitate injured voices.

Dance Classes

Covering street dance, musical theatre, jazz dance, hip hop.

Acting Class / Drama Class

Covering all areas of drama and acting including working with masks, stage combat, improvisation and scripts.

GUEST WORKSHOPS

We hold workshops with industry expert guests on specific subjects ie:- Stage Combat.

PERFORMANCES

Our children take to the stage twice a year and get the full theatre stage experience as we use the amazing facilities at the Colchester Institute.

Class Times:-

9.30am - 11.00am LITTLE STARS for Ages 4 - 7   years

9.30am - 12.30pm MAIN SCHOOL Ages 8 - 16  years

Fees:-

Little Stars        -  £125.00 per term

Main School      -  £250.00 per term

£50.00 deposit required for all schools and remainder payable on first day of term or in 3 further installments. Reductions are available for siblings and for children from low income families - please email sally@theatricool.co.uk.
